Granite Mountain Hospice Care

Description

Granite Mountain Hospice is looking for dedicated volunteers to help serve those in their care, as well as the families who love them.  If you have a heart for being with people and want to help families get through these difficult times with their loved ones you could be a huge blessing by getting involved.  Details Below!

How long would you be serving at a time?:  An average time frame would be between 1 and 3 hours.

What needs would you be meeting?:  You would be spending time with, caring for, and providing service to the patient while their caregiver (usually a family member) takes a break or runs errands.

What does training look like?:  Granite Mountain Hospice does a great job at equipping their volunteers through a 16 hour training session.  The training can be broken up into however many days you need (ex. 2 8-hour sessions, 4 4-hour sessions, etc.)

What are we allowed to talk about?:  Granite Mountain Hospice is not a Christian Care facility and as such, we need to be respectful of the beliefs of those we are working with.

What does it look like when volunteers go into the home?:  Each situation is different.  Granite Mountain Hospice will contact volunteers and describe the services needed and time frame.  Volunteers can then either accept or reject the visit based on comfort level or availability.

How far in advance will I know about the visit?:  This also varies.  Granite Mountain Hospice tried to give as much notice as possible, and will get acquainted with our list of volunteers.

Please let us know if you would like to get involved, or if you need more information.
