Outline of the Premarital Process

Step 1

Fill out the application form above, and then contact Kathy Kilmer to let her know you're interested in getting married at Heights. You'll need to give her the application form, whether by scanning and emailing it or sending/delivering it to our office (3603 Crossings Drive, Prescott AZ 86305).

Step 2

Contact Leah Brinser, assistant to Pastor Adam, to set up a meeting with him for approval of your application, and to get answers to any questions you have about the Premarital Process and your wedding at Heights.

Step 3

Once your application is approved, you'll set up a meeting with Kathy Kilmer to review the Heights Wedding Packet. She will also give you a link and a password to take your Prepare & Enrich Test (a 20-30 minute assessment that lets you as a couple know your strengths and areas that need improvement in your relationship).

Step 4

If you've been married previously, we'll have you take the course Saving Your Second Marriage Before It Starts (a class covering Dr. Les & Leslie Parrott's book, which offers skills that will help your marriage last a lifetime).

Step 5

Schedule your premarital classes (parts one and two) with Pastor Adam, which will need to be completed prior to your wedding day. While in this step of the process, you will receive a confirmation email from Kathy Kilmer, letting you know the date you've set for your wedding and the resources you've requested have been confirmed.

Step 6

Review the results of your Prepare & Enrich Test with the pastor/officiant you've chosen to perform your marriage ceremony. In addition to this review, we ask that you spend 2-3 hours of premarital counseling with your pastor/officiant.

Step 7

Meet at the church with Kathy Kilmer and your pastor/officiant for your ceremony rehearsal (usually set the day/evening before your wedding day).
